A lovely herbaceous perennial producing waxy silvery green leaves which make a rosette. It forms knobbly clusters of crimson flowers, blooming from early summer through to autumn, which are then followed by burred fruit. The foliage gives out a cucumber-scent when crushed. Traditionally its leaves were used in salads and as a flavouring. Grows to approx 1m tall and prefers well draining soil in full sun to part shade.
