Please Note
Pre-order plants cannot be combined with plants that are currently available for immediate dispatch. If you would like to purchase both, please place two separate orders—one for plants that are ready to ship now, and another for your spring pre-order plants. This ensures that in-stock plants are not held until the pre-order dispatch period.
At Hands in the Dirt, we grow with the seasons. Every perennial is germinated and grown here on our farm, allowing each plant the time it needs to develop naturally. Rather than producing plants year-round, we work alongside nature, meaning many of our varieties are only available for a short time each season.
With over 200 perennial varieties in our nursery, many of them rare or difficult to find, pre-ordering is the best way to secure the plants you'd love before they sell out.
Because our nursery follows the natural growing season, availability changes throughout the year. Rather than forcing growth, we wait until each variety has reached the stage where we know it will travel well and establish successfully. This approach allows us to continue growing an ever-evolving collection of unusual and hard-to-find perennials while ensuring every plant leaves the nursery healthy, well established and ready to thrive in your garden.
Dispatch Information
Spring pre-orders will be dispatched between September and November, depending on when the plants are ready. We only send our plants once they are well established and ready to thrive in their new homes.
Your entire order will be packed and shipped together in one parcel. If your order contains varieties that mature at different times, it will be held until every plant in your order is ready for dispatch.
Keeping You Updated
While we take every care to grow strong, healthy plants, occasionally a particular variety may not establish as expected or may fail to thrive. If this happens, we'll contact you as soon as possible to let you know. Where possible, we will offer a suitable replacement or provide a refund for the affected plant.
After placing your order, you'll receive:
An order confirmation email.
A dispatch notification with tracking details once your order has been shipped.
